Jean Taylor Lofton

Jean Taylor Lofton, 88, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of the late John Harold Lofton, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 5, 2024. Her Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Faith Lutheran Church, 3374 Maybank Hwy at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Jean was born August 19, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late O.A. Taylor and Myrtle Slawson Taylor. She loved bird watching, walks on the beach , jigsaw puzzles, games, cross stitching, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her friends at the Redeemer Lutheran card and Mah Jong groups.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Lofton Morgan (Mark) of Douglasville, Ga., Ruth Ann Flanders ( Daryll)of Palm Coast, Fl., Carolyn Elaine Orbach (Billy)of Ravenel, SC; son, John Harold Lofton, Jr.; Eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Otis Taylor, Ronald Taylor and sister Ann Craddock.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Research Institute.
