Janice Shead Martin

Janice S. Martin, 52, of Summerville, SC, wife of Thomas Daniel Martin died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 surrounded by her family. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Ridge Baptist Church, 2168 Ridge Church Road at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Born November 19, 1964 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Lloyd Daniel Shead and Bonnie Ruth Wade Shead. She attended North Greenville Jr. College and graduated Winthrop University. Janice enjoyed the outdoors, going to the beach, boating, bike riding and walking. She was a soccer coach at the Summerville YMCA, a GA Leader and Youth Group Leader at Ridge Baptist Church. She was a former school teacher at Sangaree Elementary and Ridge Christian Academy. She was a participant in the Charleston Brain Tumor Walk supporting the National Brain Tumor Society.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dan Martin; son, Daniel Martin (Betsy) of Hanahan, SC; daughter, Hope Martin of Summerville, SC; her parents of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Lloyd Shead (Sylvia) and Steve Shead (Kathy) all of Greenville, SC.
