Janice Myra Fanning, 60, of Charleston, South Carolina, died Saturday, October 27, 2018. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of the service.

Janice was born February 23, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Buist Martin Fanning, Jr. and the late Myra Eason Fanning. She graduated from St. Andrews High School in 1976, and worked as a child care provider, retail and wholesale employee, and office manager. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Janice enjoyed watching birds, caring for her dogs, and being with family and friends. For years she fought the challenges of cancer with grace and courage.

She is survived by five brothers, Wayne Russell Fanning (Dixie) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Buist Martin Fanning III (Jan) of Irving, TX, Jack Edwin Fanning (Betsy) of North Charleston, SC, Gene Eason Fanning (Ada) of Charleston, SC, and Charles Louis Fanning (Kathryn) of Tampa, FL; and sister, Carol Fanning Jeter (Ray) of Fairfax, VA. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Henry Fanning and her sister, Joyce Myra Fanning.
