Janette H. Ferguson, 78, of Goose Creek, SC, former longtime resident of Tampa, FL and widow of Royal D. Ferguson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012. An inurnment service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1498 Sand Hill Road, Candler, NC 28715 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel, North Charleston, SC.
Mrs. Ferguson was born April 30, 1934 in Weaverville, NC, one of two children of Letus Alexander Hyatt and Natalie Rhoad Hyatt. Mrs. Ferguson was a retired secretary with Western Carolina Sewer Authority in Greenville, SC. She grew up in Asheville, NC and was a member of South Tampa Fellowship Church in Tampa, FL. She graduated from Lee Edwards High School and attended Western Carolina University.
She is survived by her children, Joe H. (Geri) Holloway Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Machelle L. (Lewis) Groden of Tampa, FL and Julie C. (Dean) Cornwell of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Heather N. Skijus, Brandon Inman, Joe H. Holloway III, Shannen M. Holloway, Sylvia Elizabeth Groden and Christopher Hyatt; brother, Richard (Linda) Hyatt of Weaverville, NC; and four great-grandchildren.
