Janet Louise Gibson Suiter, 80, wife of the late Carlos Eugene Suiter, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. The relatives and friends of Janet Suiter are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Saturday, November 5, 2011 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
Janet was born on October 20, 1931 in Rome, NY, daughter of the late Graham William Gibson and Rosa Lee Regitz Gibson. Her career before becoming a wife and mother was working as an insurance representative in the Penobscot Building in Detroit, MI. She was honored by being named Miss Penobscot while there. Janet and Carl lived for forty five years in Bellefontaine, Ohio raising their family. In October of 2007, they relocated to South Carolina to live near two of their children. Carl predeceased her in November of 2008. The family was blessed to celebrate her 80th birthday recently with a special brunch. The gathering was a fun occasion filled with laughter and memories from Janet's life.
She is survived by her three sons, Gregory R. Suiter (Robin) of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeffrey D. Suiter (Terri) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Matthew S. Suiter (Michelle) of Richwood, OH; two daughters, Laurie Suiter Welch of Gainesville, FL and Gretchen M. Marker (Frank) of Cordesville, SC; one brother Graham William Gibson, Jr. of Auburn, WA; eighteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Cooper Meals on Wheels, 2304 N. Highway 17, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466.
