Janet Silverstein Berg, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Marshall Berg entered into eternal rest Thursday, October 4, 2018. Her funeral service will be held graveside Friday, October 5, 2018 in Brith Sholom Beth Israel Cemetery (Maryville) at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Janet was born May 9, 1926 in Savannah, Georgia, daughter of the late LeRoy Silverstein and Rose Levine Silverstein. She attended the University of South Carolina. Janet was a Life Member of Hadassah and a member of the BSBI Sisterhood.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Berg Flax (Dr. Fred Flax) of Atlanta, GA; son, Jerold David Berg of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren: Eric Heller (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, Jessica Braunstein (Glenn) of Atlanta, GA and Jeremy Flax of Nashville, TN; and five great-grandchildren: Sam, Max, Leila, Sarah and Kayla. Included with our family is Geneva Linen for her 35 years of devotion and friendship. Janet was predeceased by her son, Russell Berg.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving, caregiving services provided by Hospice Care of South Carolina and especially Pearl. The family is additionally grateful for Cathy, Amelia and Vonnetta.
