Jane McCrady Yates

Jane Shackelford McCrady Yates, of Charleston, SC, widow of Joseph Howard Yates, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held graveside at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 in St. Philip's Churchyard. Arrangements by J. Henry, Inc. Downtown Chapel.

Jane was born April 20, 1918 in Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of John McCrady and Margaret Pinckney Hall McCrady. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from The College of Charleston in 1940. After graduation she worked in the United States Marshals Office as an Assistant Deputy.

She was a member of St. Philip's Church and served on the Altar Guild for over thirty years. She was also a member of The National Society of The Colonial Dames in America in the State of South Carolina, The Ladies Benevolent Society, The Junior League and was a charter member of The Carolina Assembly.

She is survived by two children, Joseph Howard Yates, Jr. and Jane McCrady Yates, both of Charleston, SC.
