Jane Saunders Stoney

Entered into Eternal rest on Monday, September 7, 2015, Jane Harrison Saunders Stoney, widow of Laurence O'Hear Stoney, of Charleston, SC. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden Retirement Community on Thursday, September 10, at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at 4:15 p.m. at Strawberry Chapel Cemetery in Berkeley County.

Mrs. Stoney was born September 11, 1922, in Florence, SC, the daughter of Harrison Swepson Saunders and Anne Adela Folline Saunders. She attended Longwood College and was a member of St. Philip's Church, and an associate member of the French (Protestant) Huguenot Church. She was a member of the Junior League of Charleston, the National Society of Colonial Dames in South Carolina, and a charter member of the Ivy Garden Club.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas P. Stoney, II, (Beth) of Summerville and Laurence O. Stoney, Jr. (Caroline) of Charleston; and her grandson, Laurence O. Stoney, III, of Charleston. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Adela H. Stoney, and her brother Haskell M. Thomas, Jr.
