Jane Britton Stanley, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Jack Stanley, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.

Jane was born January 9, 1925, in St. George, South Carolina, the daughter of Henry Clarence Britton, Jr., and Thadie Murray Britton. She was a 1942 graduate of Memminger High School and worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard during World War II. Jane was a member of Citadel Square Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Stanley. Jane is survived by two sons, Tommy Stanley and his wife, Miriam of Charleston, SC and Terry Stanley and his wife, Linda of Mount Pleasant SC; four grandchildren, Tee Stanley (Jess), Laura S. Quamme (Andy), Matthew Stanley and Hank Stanley and two great grandchildren, William Quamme and Anna Quamme.

The family would like to thank the staff at Somerby of Mount Pleasant, Assisted Living for their loving care of Mrs. Stanley.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Citadel Square Baptist Church, 328 Meeting Street, Charleston SC 29403.
