Jane M. Dempsey Ruggles

Jane M. Dempsey Ruggles, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late James H. Ruggles died Thursday, July 27, 2017. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 16, 2017 in St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Road, Mt. Pleasant at 11:00 am. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Jane was born October 9, 1929 in New York, New York, daughter of the late Albert and Kathryn Fealey Dempsey. She was a graduate of Lenox Hill Hospital Nursing School in Manhattan, New York and practiced as a Registered Nurse. Jane was an avid golfer and member at Dunes West and Snee Farm golf clubs. She loved reading and was a student of history. Jane was a member of Stephen Ministry at St. Benedict Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and her devotion to her family.
She is survived by her children, Steven Ruggles (Jeanne), Kathleen Smith (the late Ed McGuire), James Ruggles (Patricia), Janet Forster (Bobby Woods), and Alan Ruggles; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Dempsey and Albert Dempsey, Jr.
