Jane M. (Walton) Hough

Summerville, SC – Jane Margaret Hough, 69, died on January 10, 2026. A celebration of life service will be held at Northwoods Chapel in North Charleston, SC, on January 30, 2026 at 11 AM with a visitation at 10 AM. J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home is in charge.

Born in Columbus, OH, on July 30, 1956. The daughter of William F. and Ethel Walton. She attended Michigan State University where she met her husband Brian. They were married June 18, 1977 and enjoyed 48 years of marriage. As a husband and wife team they established and operated a weekly newspaper in Pageland, SC, for 28 years. In her retirement Jane enjoyed quilting, bowling, reading, and pampering her pets. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Brian K. Hough; son, Benjamin Arthur Hough and his wife Sharon and their daughters Grace and Abigail of Summerville, SC; daughter, Hannah Russo and her husband Todd of Fort Lauderdale, FL; brother, William E. Walton and his children Dorothy and Kurt of Perry, OK.
