Jane Alice Jones Biggerstaff, 78, wife of Robert H. Biggerstaff, Jr. of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on the Sunday morning of October 18, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Hollywood, SC at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow service in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Jane was born in Summerville, South Carolina on August 29, 1937 to Edell A. Hayes Jones and Johnnie Browning Jones. After graduating as valedictorian from Summerville High School in 1955, she completed the course work at Newberry College in preparation for employment as a clerk stenographer at the US Naval Base in Charleston, South Carolina. Jane married Robert on May 25, 1958 and moved to Graniteville, SC to begin a family. She would eventually return to the Charleston area and enjoy a thirty year career with the Charleston County School District in the administration and guidance departments at St. John's and St. Andrew's High Schools. She retired in 1998. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at the family's mountain home in Brevard, NC. She also enjoyed feeding her birds, and taking care of her flowers.

Jane is survived by her loving husband, Robert H. Biggerstaff, Jr.,and her children: Robert Stephen Biggerstaff, (John C. Schaller) of Asheville, NC and Pamela Jane Biggerstaff Mahaffey (David E. Mahaffey, Jr.) of Cottageville, SC, and her devoted dog, Cody.
