James Grant Zimmerman

James Grant "Zip" Zimmerman, 70, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Darlene Barr Zimmerman, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 20, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

James was born January 5, 1951 in Marietta, Georgia, son of the late John Henry Zimmerman and Betty Solsbee Arnold. He was the owner of Zip's Kar Kare in Mt. Pleasant. He was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing in local bands throughout the Lowcountry. He enjoyed fishing and loved ballroom dancing.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Darlene Zimmerman; his son, James Grant Zimmerman, Jr. and wife Michelle of Chapin, SC; his grandchildren, Ella Zimmerman and Miryn Zimmerman; his sisters, Nancy McCarter of York, SC, and Deborah Farr of Randolph, NY; his sister-in-law, Rosemarie Zimmerman of Mount Pleasant, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry D. Zimmerman; and his brothers-in-law, John McCarter and Lloyd Farr.
