James Samuel Young, Sr., 44, of Ladson, South Carolina, husband of Channa Doebler Young entered into eternal rest Friday, October 17, 2025. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd., North Charelston, at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

James was born June 19, 1981 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Donald Young, Sr. and Debra White Young. He was a Supervisor at the Waffle House. James enjoyed fishing and race cars. He loved to watch his son race at Sumter while acting as his crew chief.

James is survived by his mother, Debra Ann Young of Ladson, SC; children: James Samuel Young, Jr. and Natalie Paige Young both of Charleston, SC; sisters: Melissa Anne Gainey of Ladson, SC and Mary Young Barrs of St. Stephens, SC; aunt, Sharon Emmons; cousins: Lisa Walker and Ricky Walker; sister-in-law, Sabrina S. Cannon; and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Young, Sr., a brother, Donny Young, Jr. and his grandparents.
