James Watson Weatherford

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of April 28, 2012, James Watson Weatherford, 80, of Goose Creek, SC, husband of the late Mary Mitchum Weatherford. The relatives and friends of James W. Weatherford are invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Born January 27, 1932 in Charleston, SC, James was the son of Gurney Weatherford and Carrie Singletary Weatherford. James was a United States Marine Corps veteran and retired from MeadWestvaco. He was a charter member of the Cooper River Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Solomon Masonic Lodge No 1 AFM.

Surviving are a son, James C. Weatherford and his wife Sharon; 1 sister-in-law Ann Weatherford of North Charleston, SC; 2 sisters, Elaine Newton of North Charleston, SC and Marguerite Walters of Texas; 1 brother, Granville Weatherford of Mobile, AL; 1 brother-in-law David Bennett and nephew Jesse Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; 1 nephew Ken Weatherford and 1 niece Kay Friday.
