James Everett Udick, 78, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Judy Walters Udick died Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The family will receive friends Friday September 13, 2013 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. There will be a reception in the home following the visitation.
James was born September 21, 1934 in Steubenville, Ohio, son of the late Edward J. Udick and the late Cora Ella Adams Smith. He was the owner/operator for Technical Equipment Sales Company, Charlotte, NC and was a member of the Shriner's. Jim and his wife, Judy are patrons of the arts, preservationists and avid outdoor people who for decades have volunteered at numerous organizations, including the Museum of York County, Historic Brattonsville, McCelvey Center, Yorkville Artists Guild and the Arts Council of York County. They also have made financial contributions and served on boards and committees. In addition, they've recruited others to volunteer.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Udick of Mount Pleasant, SC, daughter, Melissa Stanhope and her husband, Thomas, of Easton, MD, and many nieces and nephews.
