James Wilson "Wil" Tucker, III passed away peacefully at his home in Charleston, SC on July 9, 2014. Born May 31, 1989, he was a 2007 graduate of Fort Mill High School, a 2010 graduate of The College of Charleston, and a current third year student at Charleston School of Law. Wil had a passion for learning and an affinity for helping those in need, particularly the homeless residents of Charleston. He loved all sports, but especially Atlanta Braves baseball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dog, Jake. Wil had a vibrant personality coupled with an infectious smile, both of which endeared him to all who knew him. Wil was an incredible source of knowledge on many subjects, including sports statistics, music, and history. He was a loyal friend, a fierce advocate, and a compassionate soul. Most of all, he was a great son and brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Sunday, July 13, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC 29401, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the service. A private entombment service will be held in the Unity Presbyterian Cemetery in Fort Mill, SC.
Wil is survived by his father, James Wilson Tucker Jr.; mother, Faye Cook Tucker; sister, Jessica Winslow Tucker, all of Fort Mill, SC; grandmother, Lois Tucker of Society Hill, SC; girlfriend, Amanda Levine of Chicago, IL; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Wil was preceded in death by his remaining grandparents, Raymond Cook, James Wilson Tucker, Sr. and Catherine Cook.
Wil had an incredible passion for helping those in need and attacking any injustice.
