James "Tom" Thomas Eddins, a cherished resident of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered eternal rest on September 19, 2026, at the age of 78. Born December 10, 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, he was the beloved son of Joseph Buckner Eddins and Julia Almond Parrott Eddins.

Tom proudly served in the United States Air Force and later dedicated his career to the Post and Courier in Charleston, SC, where he excelled as the Circulation Director. His deep passion for genealogy highlighted his reverence for family heritage and history.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Wendy Dean Johnson, and his children: Buck Eddins (Mariah) of Summerville, SC; Gray McElveen (Paisley) of Mount Pleasant, SC; and Jennifer Cox (Corey) of Awendaw, SC. James also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren and his sister, Barbara Childress, from Glenallen, VA.

A Funeral Service to honor Tom's life will take place on September 26, 2026, at 3:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., with visitation following the service.
