In addition to his dedication to his professional career, Jim was an active member of his church families as well as charitable organizations. As an Elder of Summerville Presbyterian Church, he served on several committees, and always looked forward to the annual Barbecue and Spring Picnic because they combined his love for cooking and socializing. He committed years to the Summerville Evening Lions Club and was proud to be a Past District Governor. Of all of his positions, his most cherished were those of father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Paula M. Strobel; sons, Daniel L. Strobel, James A. Strobel, Peter N. Strobel, John A. Strobel; daughter, Dorothy S. Bell, and seven grandchildren.
