James E Stone, 85, passed, away at his home the morning of January 13th 2021, in Goose Creek, SC. He was born October 1, 1935 in Chandler OK to parents George D. and Cora E Stone. He graduated from High school in OK followed by 22 proud years of service in the US Navy- radio operator and 15 years as a submariner.
He was married to his first love, Patricia A Jones, of PA, for 46 years and would have 3 children together. When retired from his military career, he attended 2 years at Trident Tech of N Charleston SC before being employed by Robert Bosch. LLC for approximately 23 years in his prime years. He tenderly spent the last 10 years of his life walking hand-in-hand (literally) with his "sweetie" and second love of his life, Patricia A Jones, also of PA.and no, that is not a typo. They would have many of creative discussions.
He had a servant's heart as he volunteered at the church food bank at Cathedral of Praise and also volunteered for both Meals on Wheels as well as hospice of Goose Creek. He also humbly served as deacon while attending Harbor Lake Baptist Church, Goose Creek. He could recall and tell stories of specific dates as if they were just last week. When he wasn't cooking as he loved to do and first job in the Navy, he would join his Sunday school church group for their monthly nights out to eat. He loved and was truly loved dearly by family and friends.
His truest love though, was of Jesus Christ. Any time a person would talk with him, he would speak about Jesus! The last thing he told us was if someone wanted to see him after he passed they would need to get on their knees and ask Jesus to be their Savior to see him in glory.
He is survived by his second wife, Patricia A. Stone; sons, Robert Stone (Lynn) of Goose Creek SC and Kevin Derbin (Pam) of La Grange, KY; daughters, Sherri Lawton (Billie) of Raeford, NC and Colleen Caponigro (Alan) of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, David, Brett, Amanda, Brandon, Sean, John Everett, Kierra, and Chelsea along with great grandchildren, Scarlett, Natalie, James and Elias.
