James Hynes Seignious
Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of June 12, 2015, James Hynes Seignious, 67, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Rebecca "Becky" Scott Seignious. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1695 Wallenburg Boulevard on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 am. Right of Committal in the Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Fort Johnson Road, James Island. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road with the Rosary recited at 5:00 pm.
Jimmy was born August 3, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late John Francis Seignious Jr. and Helen Hynes Seignious. He attended Bishop England High School and graduated from Carlisle Military School and The Citadel. Jimmy was also a member of The German Friendly Society, The Washington Light Infantry, The Ancient Order of the Hibernians, the S.C. Irish Society, the Sons of the Confederacy, and Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the US Army (Vietnam). He began his career with St. Andrews Parks and Playground and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. He retired from the Charleston County Auditor's office.
He is survived by his wife, Becky, of Mount Pleasant; one daughter, Aimee Seignious Crouch (Skeet) of Lexington, SC; two grandsons, James and Benjamin Crouch; two sisters, Carol Seignious Roper (Michael) of Charleston, SC and Jane Seignious Duncan (Aubrey) of Charlotte, NC; one brother, John F. Seignious III (Annette) of Mount Pleasant, SC; two brothers-in-law, Claude W. Scott and Dukes Scott (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and many special friends.
