James Dennis Ryan

MMCM James Dennis Ryan, USN, Ret., 92, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Claudia Mundy Ryan died Thursday, December 25, 2014. His funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29405. Interment with military honors will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to service in Stuhr's North Area Chapel.

James was born November 4, 1922 in Grandfield, Oklahoma, son of James Dennis Ryan Sr.and Rosa Whitlock Ryan. Following his naval career he retired as a machinist with Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Holmes Ave. Baptist Church and Navy Fleet Reserve Branch 50.

He is survived by his wife Claudia, two sisters, Elizabeth Ryan Bastain of Grass Valley, CA, and Martha Ryan St. John of Placerville, CA; nieces, Norma Pace and Mary Kay Dunbar (Wallace); nephews, William "Rusty" Pace and Gerald Hatcher (Martha Jean).
