James Ricky Patrick

October 12, 1960 — June 1, 2016

On June 1, 2016 James Ricky Patrick is sitting at the feet of his Father. His Going Home Celebration will be held Monday, June 6, 2016, at Charleston First Assembly of God Church, 2957 Savannah Highway at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday at Charleston First Assembly of God Church from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Ricky was born October 12, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina, to the proud parents of Nettie and Perry Patrick. He graduated from St. Andrews Parish High School in 1980. After graduating he engaged in different forms of employment, but there were none more rewarding than his 25 years as lead singer and bass guitar player for his beloved SouthSide Battery with his brother Gene. Ricky performed throughout SC and dearly loved to sing his southern rock. He attended Charleston First Assembly of God Church, helped with the Praise and Worship Team, and also served in the audio department. He always made himself available for the youth department as a musician when needed. Ricky's devotion to his family and his belief in Jesus Christ supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Ricky is survived by his parents; two children: son, James Ricky Patrick, Jr., (Ashley), and daughter, Kimberlee Ann Patrick, along with their mother, Donna M. Patrick; brother, Perry Gene Patrick, Jr., (Jinks); and sister, Bonnie Banzon (Victor). He was unconditionally loved by his two grandchildren: Tanner Patrick and Tyler Russell; four nieces, Rachel, Danielle, Megan, and Ashley; and also his two uncles, Vern Lemacks and Jimmy McManus, who thought of Ricky more like a son and a brother.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Debbie Caison and Pat Botten for the love and care they gave Ricky during his illness. They were truly sent to our family by God. Our additional thanks go to the caring staff at Roper Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston First Assembly of God Church, 2957 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29407.
