James "Moe" Benjamin Moseley

James Benjamin Moseley “Moe” was born on May 24, 1941 and raised in Burlington, NC. 

He joined the US Navy at the age of 20 and retired after 28 years of faithful service to our country. Moe’s military career relocated his family several times during his career to include Key West FL, Norfolk VA, Mobile AL, Newport RI , and finally Charleston SC. After military life, Moe also retired from SPAWAR.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Moe passed from this life to his next on November 16, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie J and Dorothy Moseley and brother Kevin Lynn Moseley all from Burlington NC.

Moe is survived by his wife of 63 years Rebecca “Becky” of Goose Creek, SC. 

Moe leaves behind his children Donald (Brenda) Moseley, Randy (Tonia) Moseley, Keith (Sherrie) Moseley, Kimberly Pack, his granddaughter Tatum Deese and great grandson Owen Ratterree.

Moe’s hobbies included camper life at the lake, boating and fishing. Moe was famous for his shag dancing moves with his soulmate Rebecca. He stayed active by coaching the family coed softball team (Family Affair) for years, as well as supporting Becky with her woman’s softball team (Sassy). Moe was also active with the Shriners, and the local VFW.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Fleet Reserve 99 Wisteria Rd, Goose Creek, SC 29445 at 1:00 pm.
