James William Morrow, 90, of Summerville, SC, died Monday, February 1, 2016. His funeral service will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel.
James was born February 23, 1925 in Clifton, SC, son of the late Grover Cleveland Morrow and the late Florence Henderson Morrow. James graduated from the University of South Carolina. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WWII and a civil service engineer. He owned and operated the The Golf Shack in Mt. Pleasant and was a member of the Del Webb Golf team. He volunteered at the Yorktown for ten years and was a member of the Snee Farm Country Club. James was a member of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church on Sullivan's Island and attended Lunch Bunch Buddies.
He is survived by daughter, Dawn Leigh Morrow of Summerville, SC; two sons, Jerry D. Morrow and Gary C. Morrow both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five grandchildren: Jeremy D. Morrow, Shelly Morgan White both of Mt. Pleasant, SC, William C. Morrow of Charlotte NC, Louisa P. Morrow and Genevieve R. Morrow both of Skaneateles, NY; great-grandchild, Quinn C. Morrow; niece, Trudy Holder and nephew, Sandy Morrow (Kim) both of Summerville, SC and nephew, Eddie Zimmerman of Spartanburg, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Morrow; daughter, Theresa Lynn Morrow Gowdy, brother, Thomas Morrow and nephew, Buddy Morrow.
