James Arnett Milligan

November 10, 1944 — April 14, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the evening of April 14, 2011, James Arnett Milligan, husband of Diane Condon Milligan.  Residence, Charleston, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. James Arnett Milligan are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Monday, April 18, 2011 at 3:00 pm in Grace Episcopal Church. Interment will be private. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL Sunday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm. 


Mr. Milligan was born November 10, 1944 in Charleston, SC, the son of William Moultrie Milligan, Jr. and Jean Nutter Milligan Seyle.  He was a graduate of St. Andrew's High School and Charleston Southern University.  Mr. Milligan was a Past Master of the Pythagorean Lodge, Scottish Rite, Omar Shrine and past Director of the Directors Staff, Past President of Rotary Club of North Charleston, Paul Harris Fellow, Past President of the Early Bird Toastmasters, Past President of the James Island Optimist and former Chairman of the James Island Constituent School Board. He retired from Citizens and Southern National Bank as an Assistant Vice-President.


He is survived by his mother of Charleston, SC; wife of Charleston, SC; one daughter: Dana M. Long (Steven) of Charleston, SC; two sons: J. Marshall Milligan (Laurie) of Johns Island, SC and P. Scott Milligan of Charleston, SC; one brother: William M. "Buddy" Milligan, III (Linda) of Folly Beach, SC; two half brothers: Monty Milligan and Bryant Milligan, both of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren: Taylor, Ryan, Gavin and Georgia.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston Foundation, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
