James Edward McGuire, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Pamela Riley McGuire died Tuesday, March 8, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 1:00 until time of the service.
James was born January 25, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, son of the late James Edward McGuire and the late Marie Renckley McGuire. He was raised in West View, Pennsylvania and served in the United States Army. He was a published writer of poetry and short stories as well as a home builder, self taught guitarist and artist. James had a great love for animals.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela McGuire of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sons, Kevin McGuire of Pittsburgh, PA and James McGuire of Villas, NJ; four daughters, Marirose (Tom) Grayson of Pittsburgh, PA, Kathleen (Rod) Belsky of North Charleston, SC, Patricia (Karl) Klein of Summerville, SC and Sharon (Bob) Tokarczyk of Beaver, PA; two step-daughters, Robyn (Ricky) Hills of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Sherry (Ray) Woods of Barnwell, SC; step-son, Rick Knopf of Union, SC; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
