James L. Maynard, Jr. ST. PETERS, MO - James L. Maynard Jr. died Friday, December 9, 2011, at his home in St. Peters, MO. surrounded by friends and family, after a battle with cancer. He was born May 26th, 1934 in Logan, West Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Jean Maynard (Morrow); and three daughters: Lynne C. Stuhr of Charleston, SC (formerly of St. Charles), Kim Trendley of O'Fallon, MO and Tana Propst of Cape Girardeau, MO; two son-in-laws: William (Sandy) Stuhr, Jr. of Charleston, SC and Michael Trendley of O'Fallon, MO; two loving sisters: Linda Coffman of Charlotte, NC, and Louise (Lou) Suder of Gun Barrel City, TX; one brother: James Burns of Berekley Springs, WV; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Jim served his country as a sergeant in the US Army 82nd Airborne during the 1950's after which he went to SEMO in Cape Giraurdeau, MO. He was a dedicated brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Jim built, owned and operated several bars and restaurants in the St. Charles, St. Peters area during the 70's 80's and 90's to include, Turk Mcgoogans, Red Witch Pub, Whistling Swan Pub, Parrots, Cafe; Lille and Dirty Duck d/b/a That Duck Bar and Grill. He was a general contractor for numerous others in the tri county area. After retiring to Charleston, SC, he continued his creative work with tile in the Charleston area for 12 years. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. Services: The family is being served by The Baue Funeral Home, 3950 West Clay, St. Charles, MO. A private memorial will be held by the family.
