Jimmy was born December 24, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of Esther Floyd Tennes and the late Paul L. Tennes. He worked as a machine operator in the Paper industry, as well as a firefighter for both North Charleston and Goose Creek. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Goose Creek Rural Fire Department. Jimmy was an AVID Clemson University football fan. His true passion was cooking - with all things BBQ being his greatest talent. Jimmy loved taking care of others, and feeding them was one way in which he did that very well. He would trailer his smoker to the Clemson games for tailgating, and was often cooking for those groups that supported the Goose Creek and surrounding communities. He loved to go camping with his family; cooking and socializing at their favorite spots in Lakewood and Huntington Beach.
He is survived by his mother; his loving wife of 40 years; two sons, Cory J. Tennes and Brandon P. Tennes (Ginny); two grandchildren, Claire and Rushton Tennes; one brother, David Tennes; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.
