James "Jimmy" Milton Taylor, Sr., 79, of Awendaw, South Carolina, husband of the late Gerda Maria Zanggl Taylor died Thursday, September 8, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Following interment there will be a reception at the V.F.W. Post 10624, 1411 Stuart Engals Blvd. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Jimmy was born September 21, 1936 in Kingstree, South Carolina, son of the late William J. Taylor and Margaret Oliver McCants Taylor. He attended Clemson University and loved fishing, cooking BBQ, and playing cards at the Awendaw Senior Center. Jimmy was retired from Detyens Shipyard as a Hull Supervisor. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters: Monica Besecker and her husband, Dave, of Charlotte, NC, Peggy Arnold and her husband, Larry, of Huger, SC and Jenny Kennington and her husband Ritchard, of Awendaw, SC; son, James M. Taylor, Jr. of Awendaw, SC; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
