James "Jim" Wood Ross, 88, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Carolyn Sue Barlett Ross, entered into eternal rest Friday, January 8, 2021. His memorial service will be held on Monday in the Northwood Baptist Church, 2200 Greenridge Road at 2 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.
Jim was born March 26, 1932 in Statesville, NC, son of the late Walter Ross and the late Mary Miller Ross. Jim retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sgt. with 28 years of service. He was an active member of Northwood Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He loved the Lord and served in a local church wherever they were stationed. He loved camping, entertaining, and woodworking. He was a proud "Grandaddy" and loved spending time with his grandkids. He made the best macaroni and cheese!
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ross of North Charleston, SC; daughter, Marcia (Danny) Johnson of Awendaw, SC; four sons: Steve (Kathleen) Werner of Montgomery, AL, Ronald (Janis) Ross of Stony Point, NC, Kenneth Ross, and Donald Ross; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
