James "Jamie" Thomas Rabon, III

James "Jamie" Thomas Rabon, III, 53, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. His funeral service will be held Sunday, August 6, 2023, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mt. Pleasant Chapel at 2:00 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Jamie was born July 28, 1970, in Greensboro, North Carolina, son of James Thomas Rabon Jr. and the late Margaret Sue Terrell Rabon. In addition to his father, Jamie is survived by his children, Melanie Rabon and James Thomas Rabon, IV.

Jamie was a proud Charlestonian with a love of boating and fishing. He held a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University and a Master’s degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He worked in the automotive industry for nearly thirty years, and had a passion for cars. He was quick to smile and joke, but also dedicated to providing for his family through hard work.  

Jamie struggled with addiction in his most recent years; however, his family finds comfort in knowing that he was a believer in Jesus Christ, and is truly forgiven and in the arms of his God. In lieu of flowers, we ask that those who wish to honor his memory simply love, encourage and support the recovery efforts of those in similar circumstances.
