James Wilson Ilderton

James Wilson Ilderton, 82, of Charleston, SC, husband of Beverly Jane Wallace Ilderton, entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 19, 2016. His funeral service will be held at the graveside Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in the Summerville Cemetery, Hwy 17A - Boone Hill Parkway, at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Jim was born December 2, 1933 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Wilson Thomas Ilderton and Mamie Nettles Ilderton. Jim attended Riverside Academy and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He started his business career with the Paul Motor Company and retired from Jones Ford, after 26 years in the automotive industry. Jim was the Co-Owner of Designs by Jane and Old Historical Views.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane; three sons: James W. Ilderton, Jr. (Sharon) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mark Joseph Ilderton of North Charleston, SC, and Andrew William Ilderton (Soko) of Maui, HI; five wonderful grandchildren; six wonderful great-grandchildren; sister, Jannette I. Epting (Tom) and brother, Thomas L. Ilderton (Janice), both of Charleston, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter T. Ilderton, and sisters: Florrie I. Carpenter, Katherine I. Stokes, Elizabeth I. Jennings, and Orrie Mae I. Gurney.

Flowers will be accepted and/or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
