TSgt. James Bennett Hartrick, USAF Ret., 67, of Charleston, SC, died Monday, June 19, 2017. A private memorial service will be held. Interment with military honors will be held at a national cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Northwoods Chapel.
James was born August 1, 1949 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late John B. Hartrick and the late Iris M. Plumtree Hartrick. Drafted into the Air Force in 1970 during the Vietnam War, he retired in 1990. James was a member of the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek.
He is survived by his children: Jennifer H. Lincoln (Matthew) of Charleston, SC, Michelle Horton (Jerry) of Perry, GA, Anna Hartrick-Barnes (Britt) of Charleston, SC, Katherine Noles (Jason) of Perry, GA, Summer Wilson (Lee) of Clover, SC, Jamie Reap (James) of Rock Hill, SC; siblings, Marcia Cunningham of NC and Tom Hartrick of Destin, FL; and 13 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Road, North Charleston, SC 29406 and/or St. Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT 59004.
