James Butler Harrison, Jr., 67, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
Jimmy was born May 1, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late James Butler Harrison and the late Barbara Eloise Paul Harrison. He retired from the United States Army as a mechanic, was a Mason and loved racing. Jimmy's favorite past time was spending time with his family and bragging on his grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth Harrison of Charleston, SC; five brothers, Michael Harrison of Lorton, VA, Jerry Harrison of Lancaster, SC, Ronnie (Melissa) Harrison of Summerville, SC, Larry Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and David (Jeanne) Harrison of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five sisters, Joan (Steven) Craven of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Cindy (Rev. Wayne) Ackerman of Adams Run, SC, Gail Daley of Columbia, SC, Debbie (Kenny) Wiggins of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Linda (Eddie) Hornsby of Easley, SC; his former wife, Connie Harrison Dillard of Ravenel, SC; five grandchildren, James Harrison, Ashley Harrison, Kenny Harrison, Tyler Harrison and Madisyn Harrison; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Butler Harrison, III, two sisters, Brenda Harrison and Janice Petit, and brother, Tommy Harrison.
