James Rea Harper

August 1, 1943 — March 11, 2014

James "Jim" Rea Harper, 70, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Jeanette Mullen Harper, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 12 2014. His service will be held Sunday, March 16, 2014, in First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting Street at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.

Jim was born August 1, 1943, in Carrollton, MO, a son of the late Edward Leo Harper and Myrtle Olivene Austin Harper. He was the retired owner of Charleston Bay Builders. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and a member and Elder of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. Jim loved the game of golf and was a member of Shadowmoss Plantation Golf Club, he was also a member of the Mensa Society and a co-founder of the Mount Pleasant Chapter of Toastmasters International.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeanette Mullen Harper of Mount Pleasant, SC, a son, James Harper (Sheila), of Hereford, AZ, two daughters; Janet Picchiottino (Brad) of Chattanooga, TN and Shanea Harper of Phoenix, AZ; two step sons, Chris Mullen (Laura) and Tim Mullen and one stepdaughter, Maggie Labraska (Leonard), all of Mount Pleasant, SC and thirteen grandchildren.
