James Boyle Grooms

James Boyle Grooms, Sr., 92, of Charleston, SC, widower of Catherine "Kitty" Meitzler Grooms entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 13, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park.

James was born October 26, 1922 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Charles Grooms and Sulie Bee Grooms. He was a former longtime employee of West End Dairy and retired from Coburg Dairy.

James is survived by his two daughters, Catherine "Cathy" G. Galloway (William) of Goose Creek, SC, Mary Louise Grooms of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Sulie G. Patterson of Charleston, SC, Mary Louise Ives of Summerville, SC; daughter-in-law, Carol Grooms of Johns Island, SC; three grandchildren, Tara Hicks (Blake), Ronnie L. Tyler, II (Tracy Jo), Julie Boland (Darrell); six great-grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by a son, James Boyle Grooms, Jr, two brothers, Charles and Scott Grooms and a sister, Mildred Rooke.
