James Edmond Garvin

James Edmond Garvin, 81, of Adams Run, SC, husband of Sandra Lynn Smith Garvin, entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 12, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 in Adams Run Baptist Church, 8113 Hwy 162, at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Adams Run Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, prior to the service. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Ed was born September 14, 1942 in Charleston, SC, a son of the late Fred Rutledge Garvin and Annie Mae Sires Garvin. He was a retired meat cutter at the Charleston Air Force Base, after more than 40 years. Ed enjoyed reading his Bible and "Thru the Bible with J. Vernon McGee". He was an avid lover of old cars and country music, especially Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty and Elvis Presley. Ed never met a stranger and if you ever met him once, you would never forget him because of his personality. He enjoyed gardening with his brother and loved his granddog, Lui. Ed will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Along with his wife, Lynn, he is survived by his son, Robert Garvin (Lisa); his grandson, Tyler Garvin (Liz Ashton); and his granddaughter, Kaleigh Garvin.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Garvin.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Adams Run Baptist Church.
