Entered into eternal rest on the morning of May 26, 2012, J. Harrell Gandy, Jr., husband of Marie Allen Gandy. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harrell Gandy, Jr. are invited to attend the funeral service of the former in James Island Baptist Church Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 12 Noon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.

Harrell was born May 11, 1939 in Lake City, SC, the son of the late James Harrell Gandy, Sr. and the late Gertrude Lee Gandy Collins. He was a retired architect, attended Clemson University, attended James Island Baptist Church and served in the South Carolina National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years of Charleston; 3 sons, Allen D. Gandy and wife, Tammie, of Chatham, VA, H. Clay Gandy and wife, Renee, of Greenville, SC and A. Brett Gandy and wife, Kelli, of Greer, SC; 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Kevin, Emily, Lydia, Elyse, Benjamin, Aaron and Andrew; a brother, Ross Gandy of Lexington, SC; and 2 sisters, Claudette Gandy of Florence, SC and Janette Catalano of Sacramento, CA.
