James Richard Finne, 96, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Margaret Pearson Finne entered into eternal rest Sunday, August 24, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden, 1 Bishop Gadsden Way at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
James was born April 15, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Henry Gerard Richard Finne and Jennie Black Finne. He was retired from General Electric Corporation and was a member of the American Legion. James was an Army Veteran of WWII and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Finne-Sandler (Albert) of Hampstead, NH, sons, Peter Finne (Yvonne) of Hollywood, SC, and Jeffrey Finne of El Cerrito, CA; six grandchildren Richard Finne, Jesse Finne, Christopher Finne, Erin Sandler-Emberley, Alyson Sandler, and Jessy Sandler. He was predeceased in death by a sister J. Harriet Finne Wood.
