James "J.V." Valley Edwards, 81, husband of Muyberry Ward Edwards of North Charleston, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. The family and friends of Ed Edwards are invited to attend his Funeral Service at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. North Area Chapel, 2119 Dorchester Road on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. ARRANGEMENTS BY J. HENRY STUHR, INC. NORTH AREA CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Friday, June 4, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mr. Edwards was born December 26, 1928, in Greer, SC, son of the late Robert Ervin Edwards, Sr. and Mollie Bruce Edwards. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Junior College and Furman University, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. A member of the North Charleston City Council for 16 years, he was former Mayor Pro Tem. A member of the North Charleston United Methodist Church, Mr. Edwards worked as a Customer Account Representative with the North Charleston Sewer District. Formerly he worked with S.H. Kress Company, Edward's Department Store, and Eagles. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Muyberry; a son, Robert Ervin Edwards, III and his wife, Christina T. Edwards of Aiken, SC; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Edwards of North Charleston, SC; and a brother, Jimmie Edwards of Greer, SC.
