James Redding Daw, Jr., 64, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Kathy Craven Daw, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 29, 2016. A service of Celebration and Remembrance will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
James was born March 27, 1952 on a balmy spring day, in Kinston, North Carolina, the son of the late James Redding Daw Sr. and Lottie McDuffy Daw. Jimmy, a former Eagle Scout, was a graduate of Elkins Institute in Radio and Television Engineering and was a retired television engineer with WCSC-TV, Channel 5.
Jimmy was dearly loved and survived by his wife, Kathy Daw of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Katy Daw (Brook Owens) of Greenville, SC, and Dana Ellen Daw (Andrew Munzenmaier) of Charleston, SC; a brother, John Luther Daw (Kathy) of Palm Springs, CA; sisters-in law: Priscilla Craven, Jane Beach, Linda Hiers, and Brenda Craven; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their many thanks to MUSC, Roper, Dr. Robert Cain, Dr. Adrian Rueben, Roper Hospice and Hospice of Charleston.
