Entered into eternal rest on the morning of Monday, February 6, 2012, James Olin Davis, of North Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. James O. Davis are invited to attend his memorial service in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Friday, February 10, 2012, at 12:00 o'clock noon. Friends may call at Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel on Friday one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Davis was born on October 24, 1936 in Charleston, SC, the son of William Nathan Davis and Dorothy Mitchum Davis. He was formerly employed at Charleston Auto Auction, retired from Charleston Naval Shipyard and served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by two sons, James Nathan "Davey" Davis and his wife Pearl of Summerville, SC and James Darrell Davis of Boseman, MT; three brothers: Nathan Davis and his wife Jean of North Charleston, SC, Boyd E. Davis and his wife Rene of Columbia, SC and Norman Davis and his wife Sheryl of St. Matthews, SC; three sisters: Betty Polzin of Summerville, SC, Lois Gordon of North Charleston, SC and Maggie Hofmann of North Charleston, SC; four granddaughters: Hauni Davis formerly of Bozeman, MT now attending school in Charleston, SC, Natalie Davis of Bozeman, MT, April Davis Moyer and her husband Kelly of Summerville, SC and Mallory Moyer of Summerville, SC. He was preceded in death by a brother, S. B. "PeeWee" Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
