James William Crenshaw, MMCM, US Navy Ret., 77, of Goose Creek, SC, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in a local hospital.
Born September 14, 1934 in Baldknob, Arkansas he was one of three children of Henry Crenshaw and Gladys Overstreet Crenshaw. He retired as Master Chief Machinist's Mate in the US Navy having served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek, Tin Can Sailors Association and a member at large of the VFW Post 3373 in Pascagoula, MS.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Patricia S. Crenshaw. Mr. Crenshaw is survived by his children: William S. Crenshaw of Pascagoula, MS, James "Kevin" Crenshaw of Goose Creek, SC, Mark M. Crenshaw of Jedburg, SC, Kathryn C. Capps of Charleston, SC and Patty Scoggins of Goose Creek, SC; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Little of FL; brother, Ralph Crenshaw of AR.
The funeral service will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 am. Entombment with military honors will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Thursday, January 26, 2012 between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.
