James Charles Forman Coleson, 68, of Goose Creek, SC died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, peacefully at home.
Born August 1, 1943 in Norfolk County, VA he was one of nine children of Alton Douglas Coleson and Elizabeth Madora Burns Coleson Reagan. He served in the US Army, Navy and National Guard. He received numerous awards during his military service and for his efforts following Hurricane Hugo. Mr. Coleson was a machinist at the Detyens Shipyards.
Mr. Coleson is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Reagan of Hendersonville, TN; son, Eric P. Coleson (Mary) and their children, Matthew, Adam, and Andrew all of Bloomington, IN; daughter, Jamie C. Coleson and her children Kristi, Ray Ray, and Emory all of Charleston, SC; brothers Jerome Reagan (Donna) and Joseph Reagan all of Hendersonville, TN, Jerry Coleson of NC; sisters Gloria Densmore of Virginia Beach, VA, Joyce Schini (Charles) of Normal, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alton Coleson, Sr.; two sons, David Clay Coleson and James Coleson, Jr.; brothers, Alton Coleson, Jr. and John Henry Reagan; sister, Fern Coleson.
The funeral service will be held at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Monday, April 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
