James Leon Clark, 88, husband of the late Mary Lois Henson Clark, of Bonneau, SC, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010. The relatives and friends of James Clark are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Clark was born November 11, 1921 in Greenville, Texas, son of the late James Leon Clark, Sr. and Hassie Foster Clark. He attended college but left to join the United States Navy, where he served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He worked at LTV in Aircraft Electronics and later for Colonial Oil where he retired. James and his wife Mary Lois owned Home and Farm Supply in Awendaw, SC. He was a former member of the Hejaz Shrine Temple in Greenville, SC, the American Legion Post 179 and VFW. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by a son Anthony Ray Clark of Charleston, SC; daughters, Vicki Clark Freeman of Bonneau, SC and Sherri Clark Manucy of Huger, SC; five grandchildren, Chandra Mitchum of McClellanville, SC, Gerald Freeman, Jr. of Jamestown, SC, Frank Cervantes, Jr. of James Island, SC, Amy Clark of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Kimber Freeman of Bonneau, SC; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Clark and a son, James Leon Clark, III.
