James Curtis Brown

James Curtis Brown, 56, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Kelly Rachelle Lane Brown entered into eternal rest Thursday, August 12, 2021. His memorial service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Casual attire is appropriate.

James was born November 3, 1964 in Beaufort, South Carolina, son of James Curtis Brown and Katie Edgerly Brown. He enjoyed a career early in his working years as a highly respected Nissan Master Mechanic. Later, Jim owned and operated a landscaping company that served throughout the Low Country.
James enjoyed many pleasures in life, such as riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, going to hockey games, surf fishing, crabbing, and shooting pool. He loved to travel and with his loving wife Kelly, he explored Washington DC, Tennessee, and Florida. In 2016 James even made it into New York where he took his wife to propose. His favorite places to visit were to see his grandchildren, happily traveling between the two in Pennsylvania and the one in Florida.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Brittany Petrovic; two step-children, Cameron Kroemelbein (Candice) and Megan Kroemelbein (Gregory Gentry, Jr); a sister Jamie Brown and brother, Michael Brown. James also had three grandchildren, Alexander Petrovic, Gabriel Kroemelbein, and Jonah Gentry.
