James Perry Alexander, 61, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015. The family will hold a private Memorial Service. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Perry was born January 6, 1954 in Hogansville, Georgia, son of the late John Watkins Alexander and the late Hilda Ivy Innes Alexander. He was a talented musician, composer, and poet, and loved to surf. Perry was a beloved son, brother, and uncle and a man of faith. He endeared himself to his family by the many ways he showed his love for them.
He is survived by two sisters and one brother, Hilda "Alix" Alexander of Mount Pleasant, SC, John W. Alexander and his wife, Kim, of Candler, NC, and Patricia Alexander Howerton of Bluffton, SC; nephews and nieces, David Shapiro and his wife, Sallie, of Hendersonville, NC, John Howerton and his wife, Danielle, of San Antonio, TX, Scott Shapiro and his wife, Jennifer, of Wilmington, NC, Amy Howerton of Bluffton, SC, Jeff Howerton and his wife, April of Okinawa, Japan, Matthew Alexander of Charleston, SC, Mark Alexander of Mount Pleasant, SC and Kara Alexander Driscoll and her husband, Tim, of Milwaukee, WI; and nine great nieces and nephews.
