Jake Wilson, 75, of Wando, South Carolina, husband of Betty J. Wilson entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 3, 2018. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Andrews, SC at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Stuhr's Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Born May 15, 1943 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, he was one of three children of the late John W. Wilson and Eliza Blakeley Wilson. He graduated from Williamsburg High School, Class of 1961. Jake served in the National Guard Reserves and was a constable for DNR. Land management was his passion; he worked on his family farm, Wilson Farms, and dedicated 56 years as a caretaker for Cainhoy Plantation. Jake was a cowboy at Daniels Island for Harry Guggenheim.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty J. Wilson of Wando, SC; three children: Tammy W. Giannelli (Michael) of Wando, SC, Stephany W. Braddy (Travis) of McClellanville, SC and Michael J. Wilson (Melinda) of Andrews, SC; and six grandchildren: Richard J. Reynolds, Blakeley Reynolds, Morgan Giannelli, Cantley Wilson, Everette Wilson, and Abram Wilson; sister, Mattie Prosser of Andrews, SC and brother, John Wilson of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy L. Wilson.
