Jake Allen Rauch, 78, of Johns Island, South Carolina, widower of Hayden Shealy Rauch, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 5, 2017. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Jake was born November 2, 1938 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, son of the late Henry Jake Rauch and Hazel Rauch. He served in the S.C. National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church of Charleston. Jake was the owner of J.A. Rauch Construction Company, Inc., and a member of the Studebaker Driver's Club of South Carolina.
He is survived by two sons: Barry A. Rauch of Ravenel, SC, and Dennis J. Rauch of Turners Rock, GA; three daughters: Jackie Rauch (Harry) Reimer of Charleston, SC, Beth Rauch (David) Jeffcoat of Johns Island, SC, and Jennifer M. Rauch of Johns Island, SC; three brothers: Gilbert Rauch (Tweedy) of Lexington, SC, Fred Rauch (Cookie) of Lexington, SC, and Carey Rauch (Susan) of Blythewood, SC; two sisters: Sharon Rauch of Lexington, SC, and Rhonda Halacka (Randy) of W. Columbia, SC; ten grandchildren: Khristina Martinez, Jacob Melbo, Charlotte Stegall, David Jeffcoat III, Cassidy Melbo, Scarlett Rauch-Delva, Joshuah Rauch, Skyeler Rauch-Delva, Zachary Rauch, and Jason Jeffcoat; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Rauch Miller.
